- Have somebody to call 119 for rescue
- While attempting a rescue for a drowning person, it’s better to rescue with indirect means. Do not abruptly dive in the water for rescue. In many occasions the rescuers might drown along with the victim due to imprudence.
- As soon as the victim is taken from the water, make sure their respiratory tract is unobstructed. If the victim does not breathe, and has no pulse, start CPR at once.
- Remove soaked clothing, dry the body and keep it warm, and then rush to the hospital.
